Sissification History

And Feminization in Kink

Feminization through submission has opened up a lot of doors in helping people understand themselves.

Sissification is a term today could which encompasses so many definitions, creating confusion as to where people fit.

It wasn't always this way.

Learn a brief history of sissification

and why we are now called "Pink Party."

Feminization in Kink

Sissification

Sissification as a kink, historically was a term used for a typical cis man who enjoyed the humiliation and submission through a high level of exagerrated,

over-the-top forced femininity to a dominant partner, typically a woman, as a form of submission. The feminization involved was commonly viewed to be used as some form of kinky, humiliating punishment, used by stripping a man of his power through removing the clothing that made him visibly masculine.  â€‹This in turn was seen as also stripping him of his ego and masculinity, by making him appear feminine, and by making him not just feminine, but intensely and obnoxiously feminine (pink, ruffles, lace, etc). He would then be seen as something weak and pathetic to be laughed at. As a dramatically feminized person, the dominant would make the "sissy" perform acts that were also demeaning of them, and historically for women. Housework, walking in heels, behaving overall in feminine mannerisms, or slutty activities that women were commonly thought to engage in. This sometimes would include other kinky activities like bondage, spanking, etc depending on the people involved and what they enjoyed.

Throughout the 19th century, it was not accepted in society for a man to embody anything feminine. That would be considered insulting and taboo, as women had less power and were viewed as the weaker sex. "Male and female" were the only acceptable genders and those gender norms were harshly pressured and expected. Women in society were always expected to dress feminine and be very feminine. Men who chose to dress in a feminine manner or would embody the essence of femininity in some way, or just weren't masculine enough by societal standards were called "sissies."

The word "sissy" referred to "sister" but essentially it was someone exclaiming "you're a girl." As the term caught on in the early 19th century, it began to be used more insultingly at times, when men showed any sign of weakness.

"What are you, a sissy? You throw a baseball like a girl." â€‹â€‹

In the early 19th century it was commonly used also for a man who had effeminate qualities and didn't fit the more masculine societal norms.

Men who felt strong urges to explore femininity, and were also submissive and kinky, adapted the term for themselves and would sometimes even identify themselves as such, since they didn't know what else to use to describe their feelings. In some cases, these men were gay, crossdressers, genderfluid, or even trans.

Men also fantasized (since long before the 19th century) of women using feminization in a kinky punishing way. The term "sissy" started to stick more as a kink term.

"She punished me and made me into a sissy. Her sissy."

This also didn't mean that people who were (likely mostly unknowingly at the time) crossdressers, trans etc didn't also fantasize about feminization in kinky submission either. Some of those people who were effeminate or feminized were also submissive and kinky, and this frequent feeling of wanting to be feminine pushed into that. Eventually, this pushed its way into art and later, magazines.

Brothels were commonly filled with people exploring their kinks and it wasn't uncommon for some sex workers to become what today is a modern day dominatrix. Sex workers including older versions of dominatrices, were receiving people who wanted to be feminized and dominated, except there were several differences. Some were men who wanted to be humiliated, and some saw no humiliation in it, and wanted to truly be their female selves during the domination.

Later on, the sissification term was more largely accepted as something men were punished with in kink as a form of humiliation and power exchange, and that was largely thanks to popular underground cartoons and magazines dedicated to imagery of this beginning with artwork and later photography.

This left a lot of other people using the term who found no humiliation in it, finding ways to connect with the feminization and submission together that they enjoy, but yet not fitting the "man being humiliated by it" mold.

Modern day dominatrices would eventually call men who like to be feminized but not humiliated with it, simply submissive crossdressers and not sissies. Yet it was hard for some submissives to ignore the activities that were seemingly enjoyed and used in sissification (like slut training) which also made it more confusing as to where people belonged in this genre at all.

Trans Women and Sissification

As time went on, people began to realize that they are in fact, not classic sissies, but submissive trans women. Starting this journey of transitioning but being submissive also, led to a lot of people still somewhat finding commonality in the sissy genre, and so this shifted the kink genre of sissification even more, widening it into such a large umbrella term.

They enjoyed the control the dominant person had in the feminization and overall domination of them, but they saw no need for them to be mocked as a man changed to a woman, that wasn't what they wanted at all, because they don't connect with being the male gender. Many didn't need any humiliation in that regard whatsoever. Instead they wanted to simply be treated as a submissive woman subjected to BDSM, as they had realized deep down, they are a submissive woman.

In the more classic idea of sissification, the idea of being made into a female form for their dominant partner in an extreme way is very appealing and sissification role-plays can sometimes include the idea or fun fake "threat" of transitioning to female for your dominant partner through hormones and surgery. In other words, taking the feminine identity to a permanent place. This remains a kinky fantasy and is often left in the fantasy world and not meant for real life for many. However this is another point where lines can blur for some people who aren't sure if this is a fantasy, or if they are trans.

Since many people are trans and transition to female, but also are submissive and like to be controlled by a dominant partner, the same roleplay as above becomes very much their reality as the idea of them becoming a woman and taking hormones is actually happening, so the idea of them doing it while in the kinky fantasy world "for" their dominant partner as a kink, fits and becomes a hot and alluring situation that truly does fit. This does not mean they are pretending to be trans or transitioning in reality for their partner, it just plays into the fun idea of control. â€‹

Pornography

Due to both misunderstandings of terms as well as evolving terms, pornography has shifted a lot over the years and has labeled many video themes and people in them using the term "sissy" or "sissification." This has widened the genre to encompass almost all feminization in submission, in almost all forms, which has lead to more inclusion and more confusion. Since this is easily accessible, it is one of the first places people go to, to learn about themselves.

Crossdressers who are Submissive

There are people who love to cross-dress and be submissive but enjoy going back to being their other gender too. Most of them aren't necessarily into the exaggerated humiliation of sissification as a punishment at all but can enjoy humiliation in general in kink. Usually they want to be their female selves no different from a trans woman wanting to be their female selves during kink play, and not a man being made to be female.

Common Terms Used

Bimbofication

There are those who way more identify with their sissification exagerrated femininity as a "slutty bimbo" which creates its own term "bimbofication."  This feeling and desire can be an entire identity that stays constant, or something fun to become sometimes.

Dollification

Another type of genre as well, that heavily overlaps into sissification and can also be a part of it.

Frilly Sissies

Those who love sissification that involves lots of large frilly dresses, ruffles, bows etc. They specifically like the exaggerated femininity.

Sissy Maid

Dressed as a maid and performing tasks.

Passable

A term used to describe the appearance of being viewed as the gender they wish to be or are. For example a trans female would likely want to be dressed and made up in a way where she is seen as female by others. A crossdresser might want to be viewed this way as well.

Sissy Baby

While there are different versions of age regression and they are often used for cathartic reasons, we often see "sissy baby" as the sissy is usually being treated as a baby girl as a form of punishment, control and/ or mockery.
